Douglas Horne/LaFortune Jr. Also known as Bear, Douglas was born in Victoria in 1982 to a family of carvers. He started very young by working on scraps from his father, Doug LaFortune’s work. He has brought his art to a new realm of carving and is expected to be as masterful with his tools as his father. It was not until recent years that Douglas has taken carving as a career and it has been an excellent decision. Bear has been commissioned to carve mask, sculptures and very intricate pieces of wall art. All of these pieces has had to meet Douglas’ high personal standards before they have been issued to buyers. |
