Perry LaFortune’s Whale Plaque Measuring 9 inches wide and 11 inches high, this mask was carved out of alder. Being carved from alder this mask has some very unique wood grain patterns. Perry had simply drawn the designs on the mask and proceeded to carve them while the wood was wet. After the alder wood dries it becomes too hard to carve, so all of these designs were carved within one day. |
