Darryl Baker is a nephew of the greatly experienced LaFortune family. Born and raised just outside of Victoria, Darryl lives in the same village as his uncles Doug LaFortune and Aubrey LaFortune. Born in 1976 he began to carve at the age of twelve, but it was not until later in his teenage years that he was taught Traditional West Coast style by his uncles. His craft has now transformed into his own unique style of Indian art. Darryl creates a wide range of art from plaques to bowls to masks right up to totem poles. Darryl’s work is know to be very sought after by collectors. |
