Perry LaFortune’s Whale Plaque

Measuring 10 inches wide and 13 inches high and has an average depth of 3/4 of an inch.  Carved out of yellow cedar, Perry has free handed this piece.  Free handing refers to the fact that Perry did not use any guides to shape out the oval or draw any designs on the wood to help him carve out the killer whale.  There are no hanging devices installed on the back of this piece.  Although Perry has not signed the back it was purchased directly from Perry and a simple comparison of design to his previous works would show the resemblance.
